Blake Literature: Hammond Smith, Peter De Wint 1784-1849, London, 1982, p.144 The present sheet was among a group of around five hundred sketches, drawings from nature, and finished watercolours from De Wint's studio that were sold at auction and dispersed the year after the artist's death.
