This is a view looking of Stamford south across Town Bridge to St Martin's Church. Opposite the church is the famous George Hotel. An aquatint of this view after Rowlandson, with some differences, was published as plate 5 of `Sketches of Nature' in 1822. Another version of this drawing was with Frank T. Sabin, London, in 1933.
