This watercolour is accompanied by a letter written by the artist to the buyer of the picture in 1877: `Dear Sir/I made the drawing which you purchased at the summer Exhibition in a bay on Loch Torridon, under Ben Shieldaig. The little ruined Tower I added to the scene that was from another Loch in Argyllshire. I trust the drawing continues to give you pleasure/I remain dear Sir/faithfully yours/George Fripp'
