This is a view looking west down Kensington Road towards Kensington High Street. The wall to Kensington Gardens is to the right - the Gardens were closed to the public until William IV opened them to all in the 1830s. Kensington Gore is now the site of the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal College of Art with the Albert Memorial opposite in Kensington Gardens. William Wilberforce lived at Gore House between 1808 and 1821.
