Gisburn Park sits at the confluence of the Ribble and Stockbeck rivers, 7 ½ miles north-east of Clitheroe. It was built for the Lister family in the eighteenth century and was the seat of Thomas Lister, 1st Baron Ribblesdale (1752-1826). It was renowned for the wild hornless cattle which grazed in its grounds
