This is likely to be a view on the Italian Lakes drawn on Müller's tour of the Continent in 1834-35. He crossed the Channel with his fellow artist George Arthur Fripp in mid July 1834 and they walked down the Rhine passing Heidelberg and Schaffhausen where they stayed a week. They crossed the Splugenpass and visited the Italian lakes staying at Baveno on Lake Maggiore before continuing to Venice.
