Ferdinand Becker was a Bath landscape artist and drawing master who is often confused with Edmund Becker. In 1796 he had an exhibition of his works at his home in Bath which included a number of Lake District views and Cecilia Powell has suggested he visited the area in circa 1795 (see Cecilia Powell,
Savage Grandeur and Noblest Thoughts - Discovering the Lake District 1750-1820, p.78 - nos. 37 and 37 are other Lake District views by Becker).
