    This is a fascinating record of a nineteenth century church interior. Tattingstone is five miles south-west of Ipswich and was the artist's local church. Neale was a post office clerk who became a professional artist encouraged by his friend the artist John Varley and produced mainly topographical views. He died at Tattingstone in 1847
